It focuses on improving the quality, occupational safety and health, security, environment, etc. Safety management is important as it deals with the main causes of accidents and its prevention so as to avoid it in future. These standards are necessary in order to prevent from dangerous accidents by adopting health and safety regulations for organizations. There are mainly two standards which are adopted by organizations are: ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

Some of the principles are; consider customers as the major asset, implementation of the proper safety measure and involvement of the system in the management of the safety approach. The author also stated that despite of various benefits, there are also some limitations and disadvantages of this standard. This standard is not beneficial in solving the social issues of any organization. In addition to this, the organizations did not found the noticeable differences in the sale and return on investment.
The management of the business organization who have implemented ISO 9001:2008, need to review the data in a periodical interval. It is important for the management to analyze the deviation in the outcomes and to regulate the system. ISO 9001:2008 provides the management with facility of using single system for regulating business and for ensuring safety measurement.
There are some of the necessary pre requisites in ISO 9001:2008. To ensure the applicability of ISO 9001:2008 in an organization, it is necessary to conduct internal audit. It is important to ensure that the organization is fulfilling all the requirements which are important for maintaining ISO 9001:2008 in an appropriate manner.
The objectives of conducting internal audit by the organizations are to analyze the reliability and effectiveness of the standard in the organization and to identify the areas which can be improved. The internal audit helps the organizations in reducing the operating costs by increasing the efficiency of the system.
