Assessment Task
You are to produce a PowerPoint Presentation with Notes at the bottom of each slide. This will be an individual presentation. You will select one of the two companies provided by your tutor and evaluate your selected company’s current marketing strategy and how they obtain customer insights and build their brands with the use of marketing mix tools. You will then illustrate your findings with relevant instances and provide recommendations to the company’s 7Ps before your overall conclusion. Your Presentation Slides and Notes should reflect your understanding and application of related marketing knowledge and theory.

Your selected company will form the basis for both your Formative and Summative Assessments.
You should:
You are required to include a maximum of 10 slides containing the following sections:
- Introduction and Company overview
- STP discussion: Explain how your company segments their market; describe the features of their customers and use a perceptual map to illustrate their position in the market against their main competitors.
- The marketing mix (i.e. ‘7Ps’) discussion including:
o Product: Develop simple product anatomy to explain the product.
o Price: Discuss pricing strategies used by the company
o Promotion: Analyse the methods of promotion used by the company
o Place: Analyse the physical distribution and online distribution channels of the products by the company
o Additional 3Ps – Analyse your company’s Physical evidence, People and Process - Conclusion and Recommendations: Provide a discussion of the major findings and recommendations for each of the 7 Ps.
- Slide with the Reference List: You must include your reference list as your last slide.
You are NOT required to verbally deliver or record your presentation, just prepare PowerPoint slides with Notes at the bottom of each slide.
You should:
- Include images, figures or tables or any other relevant infographics to strengthen your work.
- Each PPT slide must have Notes at the bottom. In addition, you must use only bullet points in the slides and only full sentences in the notes section. The commentary on the notes section must be very detailed.
- Draw information from a wide range of relevant and reliable academic and professional sources.
Furthermore, you must provide in-text citations in both the PowerPoint Slides and the Notes Section, as well as a final slide with the list of references.

Late Submissions
You are reminded that:
i. If this assessment is submitted late i.e. within 7 calendar days of the submission deadline, the mark will be capped at 40% if a pass mark is achieved.
ii. If this assessment is submitted later than 7 calendar days after the submission deadline, the work will be regarded as a non-submission and will be awarded a zero.
iii. If this assessment is being submitted as a referred piece of work, then it must be submitted by the deadline date; any Refer assessment submitted late will be regarded as a non-submission and will be awarded a zero.
Assessment Regulations
Extenuating Circumstances
The University’s Extenuating Circumstances (EC) procedure is in place if there are genuine short term exceptional circumstances that may prevent you submitting an assessment. You can self-certify for up to two assessment dates in any semester without supporting evidence for an extension of up to seven calendar days for coursework and for an exam to the re-sit period.
Alternatively, if you are not ‘fit to study’ (or you have used up your two self-certification opportunities), you can request:

an extension to the submission deadline of 7 calendar days, or
-
a request to submit the assessment at the next opportunity, i.e. the resit period (as a Defer without capping of the grade).
In both instances you must submit an EC application with relevant evidence. If accepted under the university regulations, there will be no academic penalty for late submission or non-submission dependent on what is requested. You are reminded that EC covers only short-term issues (20 working days) and that if you experience longer term matters that impact on your learning then you must contact the Student Hub for advice.
